Support to Public Safety, County D.A Office, EMS and Emergency Management

  • Fund the sheriff's department to meet current and near-term staffing and operations requirements. Public safety needs to be a priority.

  • Support county D.A.’s office through board policies and funding that allow the office to fairly and swiftly enforce and adjudicate local and state laws. Proper justice must prevail. Our citizens and residents should rest easy knowing their justice system has the tools and resources necessary to perform their duties.

  • Will NOT SUPPORT any move to “Defund” county law enforcement or legal services. Funding law enforcement and ensuring proper training and staff levels gives all residents the confidence that we will be kept safe!

County Budget and Funding Priorities

  • Re-Balance budget prioritization to better deliver necessary programs and services. Urging department heads to do better with the tax payer’s money is a must.

  •  Halt over commitment to programs that we don’t have the long term funding. We have too many programs without the staff and resources to fulfill them. I will work on collaborative ways to deliver needed services while restoring faith in our ability to deliver current programs that are falling short of expectations.

  • Cease and resist initiating spending without a long term funding outlook. I will utilize patience and insist on looking at how each new request impacts that tax payer and the community. No more commitments without proper funding.

  • Fund focused and sustainable services for elderly, veterans and disabled. Our elderly population continues to increase, and we need public/private options to help support their transportation needs.

  • Actively pursue grants wherever possible to fund or augment priority programs

Support to County Roads, Administrative Buildings and Water Quality Systems

Well maintained infrastructure is a necessity to public safety. A balanced approach to road repair, new buildout and maintenance must be funded properly. Current economic impacts need to be taken into consideration when looking into long term plans for county government, including transportation needs. Residents and businesses thrive with a well maintained infrastructure.

Business Climate and Entrepreneur Support

Business success depends on minimal regulation and consistent application of policies. County Board actions MUST support the sector free from over regulation and county mandates.
